Advanced Research Methods: Data Collection in Information Technology
This course is designed to familiarize students with a broad range of research methods and their specific applications in information technology. Students will learn to identify questions appropriate for various research methods, learn about methods for gathering and analyzing data, appropriate interpretation of data in each methodological instance, and reporting of results. The course will include Delphi method, archival research, observation, action research, case studies, ethnographic research, interviews, experience sampling, field experiments, cognitive measures (lexical decision tasks, reaction time, eye movement, etc.), modeling, neuroimaging, web based data collection, and meta-analysis.
