Celebrate 50 years of the College of Technology

The College of Technology is celebrating its 50th anniversary throughout the 2013-14 academic year. A web site for the celebration highlights the planned events, a Share Your Memories page, downloads and more. The theme for the celebration is "Imagine. Create. Experience." We hope you can share in some or all of the events. Participate on Twitter and Facebook as well with the hashtag "#cot50".

Three reasons to visit campus Sept. 27-28

Three of Purdue's family-friendly celebrations have been combined in 2013: Homecoming, Alumni Weekend and Family Weekend. Join other members of the Purdue family Sept. 27-28 for the Boiler Bridge Walk, Homecoming Parade, Homecoming Celebration and more. The College of Technology will host a tent on the Stadium Mall as part of Saturday morning celebration. Stop by for Technology goodies, and show your Purdue Alumni membership card for a special gift.

Rench creates magic in his Disney technology role

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts is taking another step forward to evolve how guests experience Disney Parks, and College of Technology alumnus Scott Rench is leading the way. He and his team will use technology to make it easier than ever for guests to make the most of their Walt Disney World visit.

Hero Store is finalist in Entrepreneur 2013 contest

Holly Chan, a graduate student in the Department of Technology Leadership & Innovation, has been named a finalist in the College Entrepreneur category of the Entrepreneur of 2013 contest presented by The UPS Store.

New center focuses on biometrics

With a focus on real-world issues and global standards, Purdue University has created the International Center for Biometric Research (ICBR) within the College of Technology.

CoT to help establish Peruvian university

A College of Technology partnership with a Peruvian university is expanding from annual exchange trips to the creation of a new engineering curriculum. Don Buskirk, international programs officer for the College of Technology and professor of technology leadership & innovation, will begin an 18-month appointment in Peru to help develop and implement curriculum for the new university.

New college Web site launched

The College of Technology has a new Web site, launched on July 15. In addition to a new look and a more robust structure, it is designed to be viewed on any platform -- desktop, mobile phone or tablet.

Several new faculty and staff join the College of Technology this fall or started their new positions earlier in the year.
