Associate/Full Professor

Purdue University, recently ranked #5 among public institutions in the U.S. by the Wall Street Journal, is proud to announce the nomination and application process for two (2) tenured faculty positions at the Associate/Full Professor levels in areas related to applied and integrated construction technologies and sustainability. One of the positions is available for the additional role of Associate School Head in the School of Construction Management Technology (SCMT) within the Polytechnic Institute at West Lafayette main campus beginning in August 2018.

Required qualifications for these positions include: (1) PhD in Construction Management or in a discipline closely related to the construction industry, (2) Record of scholarly publications, (3) Record of external funding, research grants and effectively conduct research. Experience in the construction industry is desirable for these positions. Successful candidates are expected to build on existing college strengths and engage with current faculty, graduate and undergraduate students to promote scholarship under the theme of ‘Applied and Integrated Construction Technologies and Sustainability’ such as but not limited to intelligent/smart systems, modeling and simulation, automation and robotics, 3-D printing applications, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV’s) and drones for building assessments, integrated mobile technologies, advanced and nano-materials, energy and sustainability. The successful candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching in construction management, as well as have a defined and solid research agenda in the field. The candidates will be expected to teach related topics in an intensely active learning-based environment in which innovative pedagogy, creative assignments, diversity of background and opinion, and excellence in student work are paramount. Candidates will be expected to maintain an active research agenda as well as a robust funding program to support their research. The candidates will also be expected to serve the university community by participating in committees, recruiting activities, student advising, engagement efforts with industry, develop curricular materials and laboratory experiences, and assessment activities intended to maintain accreditation.
