Associate/Full Professor or Clinical Professor – Senior Capstone Lead Faculty

The School of Engineering Technology at Purdue University has a full-time opening at its West Lafayette, Indiana campus, beginning in August 2016. This position is for either an Associate/Full Professor or a Clinical professor.

The senior capstone lead faculty member will be responsible for being the lead instructor for the two semester capstone sequence, lead the lecture portions of the course, supervise the faculty mentors, be responsible for the course management system, oversee the purchasing logistics, and maintain the relationships with the corporate mentors. The senior capstone course is the culminating academic experience for our students, and is a critical component of our accreditation assessment process. Throughout the year, this person will be helping the Associate Dean for Engagement with the relationship building and project harvesting process.

For the associate/full professor position, the applicant must be able to demonstrate a portfolio sufficient to be granted tenure here at Purdue. This will include a Ph.D. in a relevant Engineering or Engineering Technology field, Engineering Education, or a closely related discipline.  For a clinical position, the applicant must have sufficient industry related experience in addition to a degree in a relevant discipline. 

Experience with industrial applications is critical for this position.  Prior teaching experience is highly desirable.  Candidates must demonstrate the potential to teach undergraduate courses and the ability or potential to establish and maintain industrial relationships.
