Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor

The School of Engineering Technology at Purdue University has a full-time opening at its Richmond, Indiana campus, beginning in August 2017. This position is for a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor. The Mechanical Engineering Technology program at the Richmond statewide location is a growing program.

The successful candidate will be required to teach at the undergraduate level a variety of courses, including (but not limited to): thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid power, manufacturing systems, manufacturing processes, energy systems, automation, mechanical design, materials, and product design/lifecycle or other subjects in the mechanical engineering technology curriculum. The candidate will also be expected to serve the university community by participating in committees, recruiting activities, student advising, engagement efforts with the local industry, and assessment activities intended to maintain accreditation. Applicants must have at least a master’s degree, with preference given to candidates with a PhD in engineering, engineering technology or a related discipline. Relevant, recent industrial experience and prior teaching experience are highly desirable.

The Clinical position is contractual, non-tenure accruing, but renewable with the position having a faculty status and potential for promotion through established policies. Salary is commensurate with qualifications.
