MFET Smart Manufacturing Instruction Specialist

The Instruction Specialist works in the smart manufacturing labs associated with the School of Engineering Technology. Provides both instructional and operational support services for course delivery and assists students with projects. Uses Industry 4.0, mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, and IT skills to provide direct support to faculty, staff, and students in the school’s formal instructional labs for the Learning Factory undergraduate courses in Smart Manufacturing Industrial Informatics.


  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 2 years of prior experience related to smart manufacturing systems, processes, hardware, and software, or an equivalent combination of work and education.
  • Strong initiative with an ability to work independently with limited supervision. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Familiar with Industry 4.0 principles, programming, and IT skills related to smart manufacturing. 
  • Industry 4.0, and information Technology skills
