Visiting Assistant Professor - Electrical Engineering Technology

The School of Engineering Technology at Purdue University invites applications for a full-time appointment as an Assistant Visiting Professor in the area of electrical engineering technology. The Visiting professor position is contractual for two years. This position will be at the South Bend, Indiana campus.

Teaching Expectations

The School of Engineering Technology resides in Purdue’s Polytechnic Institute (PPI). The PPI uses innovative learning methods, real-world experiences, and industry partnerships to produce graduates uniquely qualified for technology-driven careers. This position requires faculty with both high technical competence and the ability and desire to teach in active classrooms. We are looking for a candidate to teach students in our Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) and related Engineering Technology degree programs. EET is an important part of our engineering technology programs, with applications in mechatronics, robotics, smart manufacturing, and advanced electrical systems. This position may require the use of modern distance education technologies to reach multiple locations concurrently.

In addition to teaching, the candidate may contribute to curriculum development for the EET program. Relevant, recent industrial experience and prior teaching experience are highly desirable.

Qualifications

Applicants must have an M.S. or a B.S. with more than 10 years of relevant industrial experience. The degrees must be in electrical engineering technology, electrical engineering, or a related discipline. This position requires the ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing for both classroom effectiveness and external engagement.
