Lorri Barnett has been appointed a continuing lecturer of Purdue University’s College of Technology at Anderson. She will teach for the Department of Technology Leadership & Innovation.
“I am finally living out my life’s vocation,” Barnett said. “I look forward to meeting new students as well as collaborating with local business and industry to provide continued educational opportunities. It is an exciting opportunity to work with a great team of individuals, all whom are committed to the same goals and vision.”
Prior to Barnett’s appointment, she spent six years teaching as a limited term lecturer for Purdue and was an adjunct professor for the School of Adult Learning at Anderson University. She has experience teaching in traditional classroom settings, at various manufacturing facilities, and is well versed in various online instructional tools. In addition, she maintained a career in the IT field, serving as IT director for a local K-12 school district and for a manufacturing facility in Indianapolis.
Barnett is a native of Anderson and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Anderson University. She is also active in her church, serving on various committees and outreach projects that serve Hamilton and Marion counties. She is a 1999 graduate of the Leadership Academy of Madison County.
“We are excited to add Lorri as a faculty member to the Anderson location. She will be a great asset and will move us forward,” said Corey Sharp, director of the Purdue University College of Technology Anderson.
The Purdue College of Technology at Anderson focuses on offering educational opportunities to both traditional college students and area businesses and their employees. It offers degrees in three Purdue programs: engineering technology, industrial technology, and organizational leadership and supervision. It is also the college’s headquarters for an engineering technology concentration in food and foodstuff supply chain.
