Engineering-Technology Teacher Education program helps Purdue earn #1 ranking

Purdue has been ranked the #1 “Best Technology Teacher Education/Industrial Arts Teacher Education College of 2017” by Universities.com.

The engineering-technology teacher education major in Purdue Polytechnic’s Department of Technology Leadership & Innovation teaches the basics of technology and engineering concepts including engineering design, prototyping, architecture and construction, robotics and automation, enabling graduates to teach the concepts to middle school or high school students.

“We are excited to be recognized as a leader in technology teacher education,” said Todd Kelley, program coordinator and associate professor of engineering-technology teacher education. “Since 2015, our Engineering-Technology Teacher Education (ETTE) program has featured a transformed curriculum to focus on engineering design and integrated STEM education. Additionally, the program engages students in several National Science Foundation STEM grant projects. These efforts have helped Purdue’s ETTE program to become recognized as a leader in the technology education field.”
