Sharp named director at College of Technology at Anderson

Corey Sharp has been appointed director of Purdue University’s College of Technology at Anderson. He will oversee operations for the location, which is headquartered in the Flagship Enterprise Center.

“I am dedicated to growing Purdue University’s College of Technology in Anderson. I look forward to enhancing our partnerships with local school corporations, Ivy Tech Community College, and Anderson University,” Sharp said. “These partnerships are critical to providing seamless educational experiences for the residents of east central Indiana. “

In addition to educating area college students, Purdue’s College of Technology at Anderson serves local business and industry.

“It’s an exciting time with new employers moving to the region. We are ready to provide world-class educational opportunities for their employees,” Sharp said.

Prior to Sharp’s appointment, he spent 13 years at the Ivy Tech Community College-East Central Region, most recently as director of enrollment management. During his tenure he successfully implemented enrollment strategies leading to double digit enrollment increases, acquired over $200,000 in grant funds for college access and success initiatives, and co-chaired the college fairs in Delaware and Grant Counties.

Sharp is a native of Anderson and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ball State University. He is also a former teacher at the Madison County Youth Center.

The Purdue University College of Technology at Anderson focuses on offering educational opportunities to both traditional college students and area businesses and their employees. It offers degrees in three Purdue programs: engineering technology, industrial technology, and organizational leadership and supervision. It is also the college’s headquarters for an engineering technology concentration in food and foodstuff supply chain.
