ProSTAR star: Nancy Smigiel

ProSTAR’s newest staff member is Nancy K. Smigiel, administrative coordinator. She may be new to ProSTAR but Nancy has been working at Purdue since 2001 and also is a Boilermaker graduate.

During her tenure at Purdue, Nancy is proud that she earned a bachelor of arts degree in history (with specialization in the history of science and technology) at the age of 40.  Her Boilermaker blood runs deep: her daughter is now a third generation Boilermaker, having started at Purdue this past Fall. She also has a son.

Four receive September Good to Great awards

Four College of Technology faculty and staff were recognized by Dean Gary Bertoline Sept. 21 as the most recent recipients of the Good to Great award.

The September winners were the staff members of the Center for Professional Studies in Technology and Applied Research (ProSTAR) for their work in increasing the number of degree programs offered and the amount of revenue generated.

ProSTAR profiles: Mark Schuver

Mark Schuver, associate director of ProSTAR, has been involved with the college's professional education programs since 2002, making him ProSTAR's most experienced resource. Mark’s first mission was to develop and grow our original Weekend Master’s Program. He also established an in-house program with Rolls-Royce that continues today with its fourth master’s cohort. He also teaches in the College of Technology.
