Purdue University’s burgeoning user experience graduate program has been named a Best Value User Experience Design Graduate Program by Value Colleges for 2016.
Offered as part of the master’s degree in computer graphics technology, the human centered design and development specialization prepares students for careers in user experience (UX) and doctoral studies in human-computer interaction.
“For a public university that combines affordability with globally recognized excellence, Purdue offers the definition of a great value,” according to the Value Colleges ranking.
The human centered design and development curriculum at Purdue combines knowledge of technology and human nature with visual and written communication to create products and services with graphical user interfaces that are easy and fun to use.
The demand for professionals who can design easier and more enjoyable user experiences continues to increase as the use of digital technologies grows in all aspects of life.
“I am elated to see our graduate program among the top five in the nation for user experience design, and I am very proud of our alumni who have helped get us there,” said Mihaela Vorvoreanu, associate professor and program lead for human centered design and development. “With a new undergraduate major and a team of amazing new faculty to help grow both programs, the future of user experience design at Purdue looks very exciting.”
The Purdue Polytechnic Institute at Purdue University launched its undergraduate major in human centered design and development in Fall 2015.
