The UX course of study puts an emphasis on working collaboratively, and therefore the cohorts are set up in a way to provide Industry experience in all different levels of collaboration such as interning and project managing. You get a little bit of everything.

What made you decide to choose your specific major?

I found User Experience Design to be the perfect combination of technology and creativity.

What are a couple of your favorite things about your program of study?

The UX course of study puts an emphasis on working collaboratively, and therefore the cohorts are set up in a way to provide Industry experience in all different levels of collaboration such as interning and project managing. You get a little bit of everything.

What has been one of your favorite class projects?

In my Experience Studio we are doing a project in which we are paired with a professional organization, and as a team using our knowledge of user experience, we're tasked with solving some real time issue the company has identified.

What other activities are you involved in on campus?

I am a part of the Emerging Leader mentorship program as well as a member of the Purdue Rowing Team. I was also an Orientation Leader of BGR and an avid member of Run Club.

What do you know about your program of study now that you wish someone had told you when you were choosing a major?

For me, User Experience Design was exactly what I was looking for. I wish I knew more about what UX actually was; the sort of jobs and fields you can get into.

What would be one piece of advice for prospective students or new Purdue students?

It's completely okay to switch majors a few times over. It is more important that you find something that you like.
