What made you decide to choose your specific major?
I have always had a fascination of aviation and traveling, and always have wanted to learn more about the industry, my grandfather has also been involved in the industry for over 50 years. So, I was brought up with AVIATION being in my family.
What are a couple of your favorite things about your program of study?
My favorite things about my program of study has to be the connections I have formed with not only people from my major but also industry professionals, so early in my college career. Another key thing, is that I learn something new about the industry each day as it is one of fastest growing and evolving industry; I also enjoy hands-on experience I am getting; to prepare me to enter after graduation.
What has been one of your favorite class projects?
TECH 120 had a project where we had to come up with an innovation related to your field of study, it really made me think how I can make the industry prepare in the future. Intense research about what the industry needs and also what people put forth as solutions made me broaden the way I used to think about things and technology.
What other activities are you involved in on campus?
I am part of Aviation Ambassadors, a fraternity called Phi Kappa Tau for which I am also the current risk manager, and Purdue Orientation Programs as a Team Supervisor.
What do you know about your program of study now that you wish someone had told you when you were choosing a major?
Management doesn’t limit your options to just being a dispatcher, airport or airline manager it has endless career options for one.
What would be one piece of advice for prospective students or new Purdue students?
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there to company officials and forming connections as a freshman, they really value the effort you show to know about their company. It can result in internships and also future job offers.
