My name is Brittne D. Paramore and I am the new Assistant Director Diversity & Retention within the Polytechnic Department. I am so excited to begin this new role and wanted to share some information with you so you can know a little more about me. I am originally from Akron, OH. For the last 12 years, on and off, I have lived in Charlotte, NC. While in Charlotte I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Johnson C. Smith University, the only HBCU in Charlotte, NC. After receiving my Masters in 2016 from the University of Akron in Marriage & Family Therapy I was a mental health therapist until December 2017 when I transitioned to Higher Education.
I was able to make the transition to Admissions Counselor at my Alma Mater, JCSU, and traveled A LOT! I loved working with students and realized that I needed to find a position that would allow me to work with them more exclusively and now I am here to serve you! I am eager to learn ways to be able to better serve you all as students and ensure that I am learning how to strengthen the diversity within this department. If at any point you do not feel seen or heard within this department, please let me know so that we can fix it! I can’t fix what I don’t know exists. I am located in KNOY 150 A so please stop in and say hello! Can’t wait to meet you all soon!!!!
