Tim Johnson joined the School of Aviation and Transportation Technology in 2013 as a Continuing Lecturer and serves as Chief Pilot for The University’s Turbine Flight Operations flying both the Nextant 400XTi and Embraer Phenom 100 aircraft. Tim is a 2007 graduate of Purdue University where he majored in Professional Flight Technology and has earned an Airline Transport Pilot license with type ratings in Hawker, Beechjet and Phenom 100 aircraft, as well an FAA Flight Instructor Certificate with Single and Multi-Engine ratings. During the early part of Tim’s career, he flew as a Captain on a Beechjet 400A and Hawker 900XP for a corporate flight department in Michigan operating throughout the U.S., Caribbean, Central and South America.
In addition to his role teaching Phenom 100 simulator and flight courses, Tim provides oversight for the University’s administrative flights in two jet aircraft. He is a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA).
