What factors led you to pursue a career in IT?
Innovation, change, and the limitless growth of opportunities the field has to offer.
Did you participate in internships?
Not with my current company but with other global corporations such as Abbott Healthcare. I was a business analyst in direct contact with VPs, project managers, and outside vendors.
Did you participate in Study Abroad?
I helped Dean Gary Bertoline develop the starting phase of the program for the CIT Grad Department as a research assistant (RA); the program was still underway at the time I attended.
What advice would you give to current or prospective CIT students?
Everything you learn will be useful in the progression of your career. The same technologies and applications taught resurface, so gain extensive knowledge in a technical area of interest and strive to be a subject matter expert in it. Building relationships is also just as important in building your skillset for the workplace. Project efforts are countless and there will be challenges where outside expertise is needed - the more you share and know the more you grow. Know that nothing is impossible with God …the only limits that exist are the ones that you place on yourself!
