For our project we have been paired with Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) to work on a project at their Kokomo Casting Plant (KCP) in Kokomo, Indiana. We have been tasked with working with their tool room department (TRD) management's system, which the TRD uses to oversee all the Die castes used in the making of Aluminum Automotive parts at the facility. The current system that the KCP is using for tool room maintenance is running off Lotus Notes which is an antiquated IBM system no longer supported by the company. FCA requires a maintenance management system that meets the needs and wants involved with the necessary software and hardware to run smoothly and efficiently.
Problem Statement/Summary:
Fiat Chrysler Automobiles’ tool room at the Kokomo Casting Plant needs an improved maintenance management system that meets the current needs of production and maintenance.
