Team 6: 80/20 Aluminum Mobile Workstation

This project is sponsored by:

In conjunction with the Bechtel Innovation Design Center at Purdue, our team aims to produce an easy to use and safe mobile workstation that is able to cut and machine 80/20 aluminum between 90 and 45 degrees. Workstations like these aim to help manufacturing facilities further improve their automation processes. This project will lead to further automation in the manufacturing sphere and help businesses improve their manufacturing efficiencies. As a tool to be later used in the production process, this mobile workstation can be implemented in various fields of manufacturing and in a world where there is an increasing requirement for automation and cost cutting. This project will result in improved organizational efficiencies in the long run and will help automate processes and improve the manufacturing process for its consumers.

Project Details

Problem Statement

The goal of this project is to create a mobile workstation capable of cutting, milling, and tapping 80/20 aluminum. By incorporating all three of these operations into one location, the use of 80/20 becomes more available to students.
