Introduction to Systems Development

Faculty Requirements

Purdue Polytechnic Anderson is looking for a Limited Term Lecturer with a BS in computer science or computer technology and has a strong back ground in UML. MS degree with teaching experience preferred. The Limited term lecturer will teach CNIT 18000 Introduction to Systems Development.

Course Description
This course introduces information systems development. Topics include types of information systems, system development, database management systems, and problem solving. Students will read/create UML, ERD, and data flow diagrams to model information system objects, data, processes, and logic. Labs emphasize modeling and SQL/QBE querying to prepare students for later systems, programming, and database classes. Given user requirements students will design, construct, and test a personal computer information system.

Dates/Times/Location

  • August 12th-December 18th (Fall break October 22-23 & Thanksgiving break November 25-27)
  • Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday from 2:00-2:50pm
  • Hamilton Southeastern School
  • Pilot dual credit program with 13 HSE seniors
  • Contract value: $3525
