High Speed Machining Center

The MET/MFET High Speed Machining Center is equipped with a multitude of automated and manual material removal devices. Within this setting, students are able physically learn the science of material removal, programming, and manufacturing. Students, through various courses, have access to computer numeric controlled (CNC) lathes, 3-axis and 5-axis mills, as well as various manually controlled lathes and other equipment. Students learn to both write CNC code by hand and through the use of CAD post-processing.
