Purdue University's INhome solar house will leave campus by truck early Monday (Sept. 12) for Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Department of Energy's Solar Decathlon 2011 competition. About 20 students also will leave for Washington that morning. They plan to start rebuilding the house on the National Mall's West Potomac Park at 11 p.m. Tuesday (Sept. 13). Solar Decathlon project manager featured for green work
Kevin Rodgers, a graduate student in mechanical engineering technology and project manager of Purdue's Solar Decathlon team, is profiled on this month's "Five Students who are Green Makers" feature on the Purdue Web site. Solar Decathlon team offers final viewing of home
Purdue University's INhome solar house will be open to the public Thursday through Saturday (Aug. 25-27). It will be the last chance to see the inside of the home before it is dismantled and trucked to Washington, D.C., for the U.S. Department of Energy's Solar Decathlon 2011 competition. The free open house will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The house is on McCormick Road just north of Purdue West shopping center. Read more.
