Introducing ProSTAR's Matt Wagner

Outreach specialist Matthew Wagner joined the ProSTAR staff in June.

Background

Matt WagnerRaised in Indianapolis, Wagner began his career in higher education as a student-athlete at Niagara University and later earned a Master of Science degree from the University of Louisville. He has been involved in higher education and intercollegiate athletics his entire professional career with stints at the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics, Duquesne University, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His new position at Purdue University brings him back to his home state to continue his mission of making a difference through higher education. When away from the office, he may visit family in Indianapolis and Chicago, but he also enjoys the outdoors and can often be seen running, cycling, hiking or canoeing in the Greater Lafayette community.

Why ProSTAR?

I was attracted to the opportunity with the ProSTAR staff because supporting working professionals who are interested in advancing their careers through graduate programs is aligned with my pursuit of making a difference through higher education. In my brief time since arriving at Purdue, we have taken strides to improve the messaging and recruiting efforts for educating potential students about the Purdue master’s degree programs designed for working professionals. As we continue to develop content and attend events, the staff has really shared with me in the excitement about the potential that exists and opportunity to spread the Purdue message and mission.
