New partnership to improve access to medicine in Africa

Purdue University has partnered with the Merck Foundation to offer a master’s degree in Tanzania aimed at improving access to quality medicines and increasing life expectancy for citizens in several African countries.

Purdue professors and Merck scientists will teach courses in Tanzania as part of a new master’s degree program in biotechnology innovation and regulatory science. The program, which is focused on drug development, quality and manufacturing, is offered by the Department of Technology Leadership and Innovation (TLI) and is associated with the Biotechnology Innovation and Regulatory Science Center in Purdue’s College of Technology.
