It's now easier for art to reach students -- or students to reach art -- with a new website unveiled Friday afternoon (Sept. 16).
During a press conference at Ivy Tech's Ivy Hall, the Art Connection website was debuted. Art Connection fills a requirement outlined in the 2009 "A Cultural Plan for Lafayette and West Lafayette" document. The project was spearheaded by Andrew Antonio, executive director of diversity and engagement at Ivy Tech; Nick Schenkel, director of the West Lafayette Public Library; and TAF's Paige Sharpe. The site was designed by Zach Rodimel, a senior at Purdue University studying computer graphics technology in the College of Technology.
The search engine site at www.tippecanoearts.org/Educators is a component of the Tippecanoe Arts Federation (www.tippecanoearts.org) page and works to allow teachers to quickly find field trip ideas or events that could enlighten students from kindergarten to 12th grade.
