In what ways did the Polytechnic and/or Purdue help make you uniquely qualified for your new job?

Polytechnic and Purdue both helped me by giving me a thorough understanding of IT topics and issues, as well as many applicable skills which I can use to get a running start with my career. I feel as prepared as I can be for post-graduation!

Who would you like to thank as you finish your time at Purdue and start your career?

Lauren Lucas - The GOAT! She has been there for me 100% through my journey in college. She's gone above and beyond as my academic advisor and without her, I could not have succeeded. She has helped me through countless challenges, both academic and personal, and I am forever grateful to her for being my advisor and a friend. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

If you had a favorite class, project, experience, or professor, what/who was it, and why?

All of the following professors have inspired me in some way that has given me the enthusiasm and courage to pursue my career and given me goals for the future after Purdue.

Robert Deadman - You can't go through the CIT program without mentioning Professor Deadman. His courses and teaching are legendary, and he was the first of my professors to show genuine interest and care for his students. In his classes, it always felt like a family or a team tackling a challenge as one. Even though the labs and exams were painfully difficult, his support and encouragement of collaboration helped students succeed. He is one of Polytechnic's finest professors, and I am grateful to have been one of his students.

Julia Rayz - Professor Rayz inspired me to go further into learning about machine learning and data science. Her courses were always challenging, but fair. Her passion about her research was impactful for me, and it's thanks to that impact that I intend to pursue data science and machine learning when I go to grad school in the future.

Kory Cooper - Professor Cooper inspired me to pursue a minor in Anthropology and encouraged me to travel down the path of learning about archaeology and applications of IT and data to these respective fields. It's opened my eyes to an entire discipline that I didn't know existed that I intend to learn more about as I go into a full-time career.
