Why did you choose your major?
Growing up fascinated by her family's computer, Erin always loved discovering how it worked. As she grew more experienced, the challenges of solving IT problems drew her in, leading her to pursue a degree in Information Technology to continue exploring her passion for computing.

Most memorable experience?
One of her most unforgettable moments at Purdue Polytechnic Columbus was when a printer toner cartridge exploded during class! The incident was so big, they had to close the classroom for a week!

Challenges you’ve overcome?
Erin faced challenges forming connections on campus due to smaller class sizes in the CIT program. But by getting involved in campus activities and working as a Support Technician for IU Columbus, she was able to build relationships and become more connected with the community.

What are your plans after graduation?
Erin plans to continue her role as a System Support Representative for IU Columbus while enjoying some well-deserved free time.

Biggest inspiration?
Professor Casner has been a major inspiration for Erin. Her passion for Purdue and its statewide campuses, along with her dedication to students, inspired Erin to continue her academic journey and pursue a career in education.

Advice for incoming students?
Erin encourages new students to keep an open mind, get involved on campus, take breaks when needed, and not shy away from challenges. "You have what it takes to overcome them, even if you don't know it yet."
