Construction Management Technology (CM)

What made you decide to choose your specific major?

I chose construction management because I like the uniqueness of the construction industry.

What are a couple of your favorite things about your program of study?

I like the hands-on aspect of the program and the daily collaboration with my peers.

What has been one of your favorite class projects?

In my Tech 120 Design and Innovation class my group and I designed and developed a QR code that generates motivational quotes and other resources for first-year college students or whoever else may need additional support. Our project was selected to compete in the Moonshot Pitch Competition hosted by Purdue Burton D. Morgan Center for Entrepreneurship where we competed against others in front of a panel of accomplished Judges. We ended up getting first place in our respective category.

What other activities are you involved in on campus?

I am involved in the Residence Hall Association, a student organization that represents all students that live on campus. I also play soccer intramurals.

What was something unique about one of your summer internships?

I was blessed to get a winter internship which is pretty untraditional.

What do you know about your program of study now that you wish someone had told you when you were choosing a major?

The construction industry is more significant than you think.

What would be one piece of advice for prospective students or new Purdue students?
