One of my internships was in the community with Habitat for Humanity. I gained experience in the residential space through a remodel of a house in downtown Lafayette, and a new build of a one-story complex in Otterbein.

What are a couple of your favorite things about your program of study?

The hands on work.  Our labs are with materials, we touch equipment not just theory.

Can you share with us a little bit about your study abroad experience?

We worked at an elementary school to assess potential structure and site risks. One risk was a barb wire fence right by the back ground with a drop off, so we tore it down and put up chicken wire to minimize risk of students cutting themselves on the wire.

What has been one of your favorite courses?

In BCM 175, we got to build a house and used steel structures.

What other activities are you involved in on-campus?

I am a member of the ROTC Color Guard and a Techie Rep.
