After competing in a design competition here at Purdue in my sophomore year of high school, I knew this was my dream school. As a visual learner, I wanted more experience working with technology used in the industry than sitting in lectures and CIT offers me that. With wonderful faculty and advisors to help me with any questions I have, I couldn't have chosen a better college.

What factors helped you choose a major?

I knew that I wanted the software side of engineering and the technology being used.  I chose my major in CIT because I didn’t want just lectures, I wanted visual learning.

What has been one of your favorite class projects?

In CNIT 255, we worked with a local business in downtown Lafayette to design a cookbook application. We took their recipes and put them into a database and created substitute ingredients if they were out of one.

What is one opportunity you have taken advantage of outside of your coursework?

I was able to attend the Grace Hopper Conference in Houston, TX with a scholarship from the Computer Information Technology department.  The conference brings the top women in tech to present each year!
