How to Apply

Application Overview

To be considered for admission, it’s important to follow the steps below and complete the application thoroughly. Each section of the application is designed to gather necessary information, so be sure to provide all required details. Missing or incomplete sections may delay the processing of your application. Follow the steps carefully to ensure your best chance of being admitted to your chosen program.

West Lafayette and Indianapolis locations

1. Visit admission.purdue.edu/apply

2. Click “Purdue University in Indianapolis & Purdue University in West Lafayette

3.Choose the semester to which you are applying

4. Sign in or create an account for the Common App

5. Once you are logged into your dashboard click the “My Colleges” Tab

6. Click “Add my college” and search Purdue University.
7. Click “Common App Tab” and begin walking through all the steps.

8. Once you walk through all the steps click on “Go to My College”

9. Click on “Purdue University” in the left-hand column.

10. Review “College Information”

11. Select the “Questions” section and complete all the prompts.

  • Please note that some majors have limited enrollment capacity. We strongly recommend choosing a second option.
  • Under “Location,” ensure you’ve specified whether you prefer to attend at West Lafayette or Indianapolis.
  • All College of Technology majors are listed under “Polytechnic Institute (Technology).” Polytechnic is one of Purdue’s 10 academic colleges.

12. Complete the “Recommenders and FERPA” section.

13. After completing all the questions, proceed to “Review and Submit” your application. If the submit button doesn’t appear, it indicates that some sections are incomplete.
