Getting a job at Google, Part 2

I think the most important part of the article is this question posed by Thomas Friedman to the person in charge of hiring at Google:

“Are the liberal arts important?”

“They are “phenomenally important,” he said, especially when you combine them with other disciplines.”

This is exactly what we are attempting to do with the transformation of the undergraduate learning experience through the Polytechnic Initiative and I would argue one of the most important aspects.  If we get this right we will have few rivals at public universities in the nation
