This week a very interesting Gallup-Purdue study was published. The results have elements that are closely aligned with the learning transformation we are attempting as part of the Polytechnic Initiative. Many of the attributes measured in the study are about being engaged at work and experiencing high well-being after graduation.
The study found that college experiences matter much more than where the student attended college. The core of what we are attempting with the Polytechnic Initiative is to focus efforts to dramatically improve the college/learning experiences of the student.
The New York Times also published an op-ed that brings to life a real-world example of the findings in the survey.
