Anderson facility will benefit growing manufacturing economy

The new Plant 3 building in Anderson, which will serve as the headquarters for Purdue Polytechnic Anderson, will fill a much-needed niche in the the region’s education offerings, according to a recent Herald-Bulletin article.

The facility will bring together traditional-aged students, students already in the workforce, industry partners, companies, and entrepreneurs in a learning environment that will benefit each. Business leaders in Anderson believe the facility and its offerings will help prepare the region for an advanced manufacturing boom.

As part of the offerings, the Ball Brothers foundation has provided a $50,000 grant for a beginning maker space at Purdue Polytechnic Anderson. The grant will help outfit the maker space with CNC machines, 3-D printing stations, fabrication equipment, sewing machines and hand tools. Read more.
