  • Kurt Gleason (AS ’83) supervised the blasting of a new commercial cavern entrance south of Corydon, Ind., as part of his job at Rock Management Services LLC. See photos on Rock Management Services Facebook page.
  • Christopher Hume (BS ’99) has been name a rising star in ENR Midwest's Top 20 Under 40, an annual competition recognizing young design and construction professionals from the region who have made lasting contributions to their professions and communities. Hume is a project executive with Lend Lease Construction Inc. in Chicago. Specializing in multifamily and mixed-use projects, he has overseen the delivery of 1,300 residential and senior living units for projects collectively valued at more than $325 million. The ENR Midwest Top 20 Under 40 program focuses on individual achievement. It received 130 nominations for the honor. An independent panel of six industry professionals selected those candidates believed to best demonstrate excellence in their professions and communities.   • Stephen Shipman (BS '12) worked for Mortenson Construction in Gladbrook, Iowa, building wind turbines. He began at Mortenson headquarters in Minneapolis in for a month of pre-planning on the project.  His mobilized in July and completed the project in November. Shipman was in charge of foundations quality control (including 6:00 p.m.-6:00 a.m. concrete pours for a couple of weeks), receiving of turbine and tower components, and quality control for the towers. In addition, he oversaw 56 pickups and 110 radios and created pick plans for all nine cranes on the site. See photos of the project, from start to finish, on Shipman's Facebook photos page.
