Susan W. Brooks, member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Indiana’s 5th district, visited Purdue Polytechnic Anderson’s new facility Monday (April 17). The congresswoman toured academic areas as well as the Maker Space, an area for fostering start-up companies.
Brooks noted the facility’s 3-D printing lab, CNC (computer numerical control) machines, metalworking equipment, and other tools available to students and entrepreneurs.
“We know that if students get those kind of skills, there will be jobs [for them] in the future,” Brooks said. “These are the kinds of programs and jobs that I think will propel this district forward.”
