Groll receives Outstanding Academic Advisor award

Tamara GrollTamara Groll was named Outstanding Academic Advisor by the Purdue Academic Advising Association.

Nominators said that Groll, academic advisor in Purdue Polytechnic’s School of Engineering Technology, is warm, caring and sympathetic with the prospective students and families she meets and the faculty with whom she works. She is willing to go above and beyond what she’s asked to do, they said.

“Tamara actively participates in committees which impact student success and progression and will often communicate with students that are no longer part of the advisee caseload to continue to provide encouragement,” said one nominator. “Her attendance at professional development and training activities, committee meetings and local and national conferences also demonstrates her desire to continually improve her skills and knowledge.”

Groll joined Purdue’s staff in 2012.
