Umit Karabiyik, Associate Professor in the Department of Computer and Information Technology at Purdue Polytechnic, was recently promoted to AAFS Fellow—the highest level of membership within the American Academy of Forensic Sciences—during the 2025 AAFS Annual Meeting in Baltimore, Maryland.
This distinguished title is given to those who have significantly impacted forensic science through research, teaching, professional development, and service. Fellows are a select group of respected and accomplished leaders in their discipline who are actively engaged in the mission of the Academy’s mission.
