In the news: Computer graphics professors assist in memories project

Professors John Finnegan and Richard Kopp are helping to archive digital stories from tornado victims in southern Indiana as part of a larger project to preserve memories and help those impacted in their long-term recovery.

Clark, Washington and Jefferson counties in Indiana were hit by tornadoes March 2, 2012.

Finnegan and Kopp, both associate professors of computer graphics technology at Purdue's College of Technology at New Albany, will create a digital archive of stories collected by March2Recovery. They also are providing expertise on graphics, video, web development and user experience design.

"Our degree program in New Albany focuses on entertainment and media design," Kopp said. "Many of our classes include some aspect of March2Recovery's goals and needs."
