Marcus Rogers, Ph.D., has been appointed head of the Department of Computer and Information Technology. Rogers, whose appointment will be effective May 1, has been serving as interim department head since July 2014. He is also director of Purdue’s Cyber Forensics and Security Program, a University Faculty Scholar, advisory committee chair of the Digital Forensics Certification Board, and a deputized investigator for the Tippecanoe County Sheriff's Department.
Rogers' recent honors include being named the McDevitt Endowed Visiting Chair in Computer Science by LeMoyne College of Syracuse, New York. He also received the 2013 Outstanding Case Study Award and the 2012 Outstanding Research Award, both from the American Academy of Forensics Sciences' Digital and Multimedia Sciences section.
Rogers' research interests include applied cyber forensics, psychological digital crime scene analysis, and cyber terrorism.
Rogers joined the department in 2004.
