"This is either going to be a great lesson, or I’m going to face plant in the middle of the hallway," Mark French told the photo editor of the Purdue Exponent.
The photo editor and reporter learned firsthand why French, associate professor of mechanical engineering technology, is often recognized for his teaching.
"To describe French’s teaching style as “interactive” and “memorable” would be accurate, but both adjectives would be understatements. French prefers visual examples over PowerPoint presentations and would rather have his students build catapults than take final exams," the reporter wrote in the Sept. 22 edition of the campus newspaper.
