More than 300 children from seven schools took advantage of the CAF Red Tail Squadron’s “Rise Above” Exhibit during the week leading up to Purdue’s Homecoming celebration. When the school tours were not taking place, the exhibit was open to the general public. Hundreds of community members and alumni went through the short film and heard about the Tuskegee Airmen.
The Rise Above program is a traveling exhibit that shares the inspiring legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen – America’s first black military pilots and their crewmen. Their courage, determination and ability to triumph over adversity during World War II can serve to inspire others to succeed today.
The event also brought back to campus Brad Lang (AT ’72), who is the CAF Red Tail Squadron leader.
