In fall 2017, first-year students began taking a transformed curriculum. The new curriculum leverages vertical and horizontal integration of applied technical skills to construction management with real construction projects. This integration provides greater insight into how many construction management success attributes are applied in the overall delivery of a construction by combining topics from multiple courses into larger course modules.
The curriculum also provides the ability to implement advanced technologies such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and collaborative platforms. These technologies deliver a broader perspective on the technology application throughout a construction project environment and how they serve as the thread tying everything together from contract documents through field reporting, safety, coordination activities, correspondence and construction close-out.
