Join the "Engineering for Sustainability" Summer School and experience studying abroad in the heart of Europe! Munich, known for its rich cultural heritage, dynamic nightlife, stunning natural landscapes, and world-class sports facilities, provides the perfect environment for both academic and personal growth.
At HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences, you’ll have the opportunity to explore a wide range of engineering and economics courses, all taught in English. Whether you're interested in Automotive, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, or Entrepreneurship, our courses are led by experienced professors from our university and international partners. With a strong emphasis on practical, hands-on learning and close connections to local industry, you'll gain valuable real-world experience.
Beyond the classroom, our program includes exciting field trips, such as a visit to the factory of a leading Bavarian car manufacturer, and cultural activities that immerse you in the traditions of Munich and Bavaria, ensuring a well-rounded and unforgettable experience.
Select two credit courses (4 ECTS credits or 3 US-credits) that are taught in English by international teams of esteemed lecturers from HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences, the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship and California Polytechnic University.

Cultural Program and Excursions
As a University of Applied Sciences, we prioritize the practical components of our courses, alongside a rich cultural programme and engaging excursions for our summer school participants.
You will benefit from our dynamic social and educational offerings:
Subject-related Field Trips: Join professors or administrative staff on visits to leading companies in and around Munich, such as the production site and headquarters BMW, ARGO (autonomous driving), Veoneer. These visits are seamlessly integrated in the engineering and business curricula.
Cultural Excursions: Participate in excursions related to the German Language & Culture course, guided by your German instructor. For instance, a visit to the Munich Documentation Center for the History of National Socialism will enhance your understanding of contemporary German history, complemented by presentations from representatives of the European Commission.
Cultural Events: Engage in 2-3 cultural activities that allow you to explore Munich and the surrounding areas while gaining insight into German culture. Activities may include excursions to Bavarian castles, the mountains, or one of the region's stunning lakes.
Additionally, we will host receptions and social gatherings for our international guests.
Beyond these mandatory events, we will curate a list of exciting excursion ideas featuring local attractions and activities that may pique your interest.
Accommodation
Students have the option to arrange their own housing or be accommodated by HM Hochschule München University of Applied Sciences in a hostel in Munich. The hostel is situated in a safe neighborhood with easy access to all amenities.

Multi-bed room at Meininger Hostel: price 1,487 € per person for 34 nights
Single-bed room at Meininger Hostel: price 2,754 € per person for 34 nights
Breakfast is included in all options.
