Program Description

Germany is home to leading universities and industries at the forefront of technology development and adoption. Industrie 4.0 is a collaborative effort of the German government, industry, and academia to change the nature of work and the environmental impact of the manufacturing sector. This program focuses on how Germans implement Industrie 4.0 technologies in various industries and introduces students to opportunities for longer-term studies in these areas at partner universities. The program's goal is to introduce students to the unique structural, cultural, and historical elements that have and continue to influence this collaborative initiative that is changing the landscape of manufacturing worldwide.

 

Tentative Program Itinerary

Sunday, May 5th- Arrive in Frankfurt, train to Stuttgart, visit Eckensee park, Group Dinner, Team Building Activity

Monday, May 6th- Production and Technology Tour, Ludwigsburg Residential Palace, Group Dinner

Tuesday, May 7th- Visit Reutlingen University: hands on laboratories, Group Lunch, Technical Sessions with Reutlingen Faculty and Students, Dinner

Wednesday, May 8th- Charter Bus Castle Tour with Reutlingen Students, Mercedes-Benz Museum, Stuttgart's Spring Festival

Thursday, May 9th- Train to Mainz, Gutenberg Museum, Historical Central Mainz, Group Dinner

Friday, May 10th- Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences Visit, Group Lunch, Free Evening in Mainz

Saturday, May 11th- Castles of the Middle Rhine, Rhine Riverboat Cruise, Hike Loreley, Free Evening in Mainz

Sunday, May 12th- Train to Munich, Marienplatz/Englisher Garten

Monday, May 13th- Munich University of Applied Sciences Visit, Deutsches Museum

Tuesday, May 14th- Historic Nuremberg, Faber-Castell Production Tour, Group Dinner
