Jim Russell is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Technology Leadership and Innovation Department at Purdue University's Polytechnic Institute. He teaches various courses including Organizational Change Management, Project Management, Leadership Principles, Human Behavior in Organizations, Leadership for Quality and Productivity, Human Resource Issues and Applied Leadership at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Jim earned his Bachelor of Science in Electronic Technology from Indiana State University and his Master of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management.
During his 25 year career, Jim has worked in several different industrial sectors including the defense, pharmaceutical, electrical, transportation, heavy trucking, steel service and automotive industries. He has been a Plant Manager for three different manufacturing organizations, successfully leading as many as 600 employees at one time. Most recently, Jim served as Vice President of Operations for a multi-plant steel processing organization.
For the last ten years, Jim has provided technical and leadership development consulting and training services to many employers throughout the United States. His specialties include Candidate Assessment and Selection, Leadership Skills Development, Succession Planning, Management Strategy and Lean/Six Sigma.
Jim and his wife, Cheryl, live in Zionsville. They have three grown children and two grandchildren.
