Steven takes the term "wordsmith" to heart, crafting messages for all college media, from Twitter updates to lengthy magazine feature stories. He leads the charge for consistent and engaging content, spreading the word about the college's important role in preparing students and solving grand challenges. Steven has worked for Purdue and the College of Technology/Purdue Polytechnic Institute since December 2006. Daily, he strategizes, meets, writes, edits, coordinates, emails (a lot!), laughs and occasionally stresses to make sure a larger audience knows about the college.
Originally from Nebraska, he is a graduate of Hastings College and was director of publications there before coming to Purdue. His work has also taken him to Kansas as a newspaper editor and Colorado as an associate editor for a monthly magazine. He enjoys reading, playing guitar, exploring wine and international/exotic food, brewing beer and throwing dinner parties with his wife, Karrie. Together they host the Cinematheque for All film series on the Purdue campus, screening international and independent films not shown in local theaters.
Steve should be your first contact in the college when you have communications challenges. He and the rest of communications team will work with you to try to solve them.
