Richard Yu, Digital Superiority Directorate of the U.S. Space Command, To Speak at Purdue via Zoom on August 30th

Tse-Horng “Richard” Yu, who plays a key role in developing and implementing information and data policies that support the missions of the U.S. Space Command, will give a virtual presentation to the Purdue University community August 30. 

The presentation, sponsored by Purdue University Online, will be from 6 to 8 p.m. EST on Aug. 30 via Zoom. The event is open to all Purdue University students, faculty and staff who are interested in the future of technology, especially as it relates to space exploration and national security. Those interested in attending can register for the event to receive an access link. 

Yu’s presentation is also sponsored by Purdue’s Doctor of Technology program, a 100% online doctoral degree that’s the first of its kind at a tier-one research institution. 

“We are excited to welcome Mr. Tse-Horng 'Richard' Yu as a distinguished speaker,” said Johnna Denning-Smith, senior program manager for the Doctor of Technology program. “With his extensive expertise in digital superiority, cybersecurity, and space operations, Mr. Yu brings valuable insights to our students and the wider community. His talk will explore the integration of technology and defense, providing inspiration for future leaders and shedding light on the advancements and challenges in these critical fields.” 

Yu has over 33 years of experience in government civilian positions within the Department of the Army, Department of the Air Force, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and the Office of Secretary Defense. He earned his bachelor's in mechanical engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and he holds a Master of Science in Systems Engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
