Fall has truly arrived at Purdue: cooler temperatures and final census numbers are here! I am pleased to report that, for the fourth consecutive year, the Purdue Polytechnic Institute has achieved an all-time high enrollment. We currently have more than 5,000 students at our West Lafayette location — a first in our college. The data also tells us that our growth outpaces the University in new beginner, undergraduate and graduate student enrollment.
This impressive milestone is due to your hard work over the past seven years and is a direct reflection of our successful pivot to more online instruction during the global pandemic. To each and every one of you, I say: Thank you, and well done!
I also would like to direct your attention to a new opportunity for engagement throughout the Polytechnic: Coffee and Conversations, our new online forum designed to foster discussion about the presentations in Purdue’s Pursuing Racial Justice Together learning series. Please check your email for your invitation to these virtual events, including Coffee and Conversations, and join us as we share and discuss a variety of topics important to our community.
If you have ideas, suggestions or questions about ways to improve Purdue Polytechnic, please send your ideas to me via polytechnic.purdue.edu/ideas.
