Student education and future workforce development is our primary mission. The Raisbeck Advanced Composites Laboratory (RACL) provides optimal education and training programs for students to maximize their competitive advantage. Along with Purdue IMPACT education transformation, we have implemented a student-centered hybrid teaching strategy in our courses that combine theoretical knowledge, hands-on experience and the necessary computer software skill to maximize students’ involvement and motivation.
Theoretical Knowledge
We are constantly evolving and with the in-depth knowledge we gain, we can provide accurate, current, and advanced knowledge to students.
Hands-on Experience
Along with the theoretical knowledge, providing hands-on experience in the class promotes an effective learning environment. Students are provided with detailed work instructions to provide a professional practical experience in the lab sessions.
Software
Legacy CATIA V5-V6 CAT/CAM software is used in our courses, and we are in the process of implementing the Dassault 3DExperience software program that is the primary software package used in aerospace, aviation, and automobile industries to help students get prepared and improve their competitive advantages for the work place. In RACL, we developed our own software training manuals which provide in-depth software training for the courses. A professional training course and training manuals for the following software packages are offered.
CATIA V5-6 Part design, GSD, drafting, and Assembly design
